Vivo promises 3 years of Android updates for upcoming flagships. The upcoming X-series flagship phones of Vivo will get 3 years of Android OS upgrades and security upgrades.
This policy will come into effect for phones that are launched after July 2021 in Australia, Europe, and India.

The CTO of Vivo and Yujian Shi, the senior vice president said something in a statement:
“We are making a promise to our customers that they will be able to enjoy a premium smartphone experience. For an extended period and continue to benefit from the latest software features”.
With the announcement Vivo made, Vivo is merging a small but growing group of Android manufacturers. Promising 3 years of OS updates for their flagship smartphone. For a long, Google had a similar policy for its Pixel phones.
Also last year, Samsung publicized a “three-generation” OS policy covering some Galaxy devices, together with HMD in April. With a promise of 2 years of Android OS updates and 3 years of security updates on its new X-series phones.
LG Said it would provide 3 years of Android OS updates
LG also said it would provide 3 years of Android OS updates. The same week it mentioned it was stopping the smartphone business.
